Normally, I would have a cup of orange juice for breakfast, grab a coffee, have more juice after that, have whatever juice or milk is lying around when I get home from school, and have pop on the weekend or whenever I go out somewhere. Of course, I do drink water whenever I dance or if I get thirsty during chorus, but it wasn't a normal part of my diet...until now.
After watching a Ted Talk video in my journalism class about a guy doing a different 30-day challenge, every 30 days, we were assigned to do a 30-day challenge of our own for our final exam project. For my challenge, I decided it would be a good idea to only drink water, and no worries, I'm still eating all of my meals.
As a dancer, I needed to drink plenty of water to keep my strength up and not get dehydrated. But, as day-to-day life goes by, drinking water is a much healthier option than any other beverage choice out there. By drinking only water, I should be able to cleanse my system and feel healthier and more energized.
Now, water by itself is not all that appealing to me. So, I've decided to add fruit and other natural ingredients (like mint leaves) to my water to add just a little bit more taste. I started my 1st 30-day challenge on May 6th and will continue until June 6th. So far, I've added strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries to my water, which has definitely made it taste delicious and brought up a lot of questions from the people around me.
I'm hoping that by the end of this 30 days, I will feel better not only psychically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
